If your name is listed among the world’s Top 2% scientists, keeping your profile information accurate and up-to-date is essential for showcasing your research impact and professional presence. This guide walks you through how to update your institute and research fields on TOPSCINET.com easily.
Step 1: Search and Claim Your Profile
First, visit http://topscinet.com/ On the homepage, you can search for your name using either single-year or career-long data. Once you find your profile, you must claim it to make any edits. If you haven’t claimed your profile yet, please watch the tutorial titled “How to Claim Your Profile on TOPSCINET.com.” After successful claim, you will see a blue check mark next to your name indicating verification.
Step 2: Subscribe to the Elite Researcher Plan
To gain editing privileges, navigate to the Pricing Plans tab in the side menu. https://topscinet.com/pricing_table/
It is critical to subscribe to the Elite Researcher Plan — this plan is exclusively for users with claimed profiles on the Top 2% list. Avoid subscribing to the Researcher Connect Plan, which is meant for researchers not yet on the Top 2% list. Subscribing to the wrong plan will restrict editing access, and you may have to subscribe again, paying twice.
Step 3: Access Profile Editing Features
Once subscribed to the Elite Researcher Plan, you’ll notice new edit icons appear on your profile page:
- A blue pencil icon next to your institute name
- Orange pencil icons next to your main field and subfield 2
You can update your institute name, country (using a two-letter country code), main research field, and secondary research subfield. Note that subfield 1 cannot be modified as it’s tied to your ranking graph.
Step 4: Updating Your Institute and Fields
To update your institute, click the blue pencil icon. Enter your updated institute name and the two-letter ISO country code (e.g., US for United States, CN for China). If you’re unsure of the code, a link is provided at the top of the input field to look it up easily. Save your changes to update your profile.
To update your main field or subfield 2, click the corresponding orange pencil icon, type your new field, and save the changes.
